The members shall have demonstrated an interest in historic preservation. At least two members must have training or experience in a preservation related profession; architecture, history, archaeology, architectural history, planning or related fields. **Each member shall attend at least one (1) educational meeting on historic preservation per year. Must be a city resident of at least one year who does not hold an elected office or appointed office or position with the city. Must have a known reputation for integrity and knowledge of city government. The Board of Commissioners may appoint (2) two alternate members of the Board of Ethics who may be called upon to serve when any regular member of the Board is unable to discharge his/her duties. An alternate member shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year. Alternate members shall meet all qualifications and be subject to all of the requirements of this article that apply to regular members.
This is an eleven (11) members county board. The Mayor of Danville is entitled to make four (4) appointments.
No more than two members from the same political party. No officer or employee of the city can be a member. Each member must be a resident of the city for at least one year and be at least twenty-five (25) years of age.
