Mandatory Order Issued for Restaurants

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear on Monday issued a mandatory order for all restaurants in the state to close their dine-in service, effective at 5 p.m. The order does not apply to carry-out and food delivery services, which can continue, he said.

“We are to the point now where this is a step we have to take. I want to thank everyone that stepped up and did this voluntarily,” he said. “We are asking so many people to make sacrifices. It is not lost on me that most of these are small businesses. We are going to do everything we can to be there for you. We realize the impact this will have and we will be there for you.”

Bars must also close, according to the Governor’s order.

Kentucky residents can call the state coronavirus hotline — 1-800-722-5725 — for advice about when to seek medical treatment. Those with symptoms of coronavirus — cough, fever and difficulty breathing — are strongly urged to call the hotline or their physician before visiting a doctor.
