Construction Bulletin #11 Final

October 1st, 2019

Bluegrass Contracting has nearly completed work on the Streetscape project from 4th to 5th Street on Main. They will be completing final work in front of Tut’s and are also finishing punch list work on both sides of Main Street. Lawhorn Electric is waiting for the handhole covers that the Canadian supplier forgot to ship with the new light posts and when they arrive will finish the installation and energize them. Bluegrass Contracting hope to finish this month and the City can close out the project.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and Allen Construction completed their milling and paving from Argyll on Maple to 1st on Main Street. We will still see crews working to improve the traffic signals in the future as well as the beginning of construction on the new Firehouse next to City Hall, so we still ask pedestrians and motorists to continue using caution in the area as they pass through. The remaining work should be less intrusive to traffic so we hope to be getting to a new “normal” pattern soon!

Overview: The City of Danville contracted with Bluegrass Contracting to construct new curb, sidewalks, street lighting, landscaping, etc. on the block of West Main Street between 4th and 5th Streets. If you have any questions or comments, please email me at
